Health, the easy way

Allow me to tell you a short story about health. That will hopefully help someone, maybe you, with yours.

I got into the fitness arena as soon as I could.  I became a gym member as soon as I was old enough (I think I was 14), I was always involved in sports as a child and I chose the health & fitness sector as my career path.  I couldn’t get enough. Every opportunity I could, I would push myself harder to feel more capable.  I ran a marathon in a bid to be the best version of myself.  I should have been invincible.  If pushing yourself was what made you invincible!

It isn’t.  I learnt the hard way.

I developed bad eating behaviours that still try to grab me now and I was miserably unhappy.  I distinctly remember putting a post on my social media status (think it was only FB at the time) that said… ‘How can you be surrounded by people and yet feel so alone?’

Having lived quite a hefty portion of my life this way, I see a lot of likeness in clients and people I speak to about their health. As much as 80% of the people I talk to have tried A LOT of things. They have restricted food, punished themselves with exercise and grasped at desperate measures that give short lived results, if any.

It is exhausting, painful and lonely. I know, because I have been there. I have never really been overweight but I have been in the same headspace that feels utterly desolate and endless. Which, I believe is the real gritty reason why I now do what I do. I am a Nutrition & Wellness Expert with more more passion & fire than an Argentine Tango dancer! I don’t want anyone to feel like that about their body because I know the suffering is optional. I know this, because I have all but eradicated it myself and I have done it with 100’s of clients.

How?

…with appropriate nutrition, lifestyle and mindset changes. No fat loss injections or running marathons! KNOWLEDGE is very powerful. When you know how to move the dial, you can move it whenever you want to. Gaining a few pounds is no longer a problem because you know how to ditch them again!

Most of the time it involves targeted supplements and regular coaching sessions to troubleshoot. I do all the thinking, whilst you get the results. My clients often say, ‘I just can’t believe it, I feel so much better, so quickly’, or, ‘I keep losing weight 😲’. You guys are lucky…I did not know anyone like me when I was struggling!!! 😉

Yeah but how do I start?

The first thing you need to know, is the mindset shift takes time. Be patient with yourself. When you catch your mind trying to bully you, just say ‘no thanks, not today’!

You will also need to seek help. You have already tried to do it on your own. I had to get help back in my 20’s. It does not have to cost the earth and anyone worth spending your money on, should give you a free phone call to talk through your options and advise the best course of action for FREE. They should even have some free content you can consume to get you started without any obligations.

*if you want to hear my full story, I wrote an article back in 2019 for Soul Analyse about it.

Finally you have to make changes that last and the most succesful way to do that is to understand why you are doing things. You don’t need to know the finer details (like grapefruit interacts with your CYP enzymes in the liver!) but you do need to know why on earth you are avoiding that particular pasta!? Or why you are cycling keto over the month!? Or why you are having kombucha over alcohol for a bit!? If you are just doing it because someone is telling you to, as soon as that someone is not there, you will be back to where you started and I don’t want that for anyone.

Life is short. Too short to cut out bread if you don’t need to! 😉

Optimum health and endless energy is very possible for everyone. It does not involve endless restriction and misery.
